You can also come along to one of our frequent advice evenings to meet staff and get information on careers and courses. These are held on the first Wednesday of every month, 4.30-7pm. Contact us for more information. Alternatively we'd be delighted if you'd like to come and have an informal look around the College. If you want to come with a group of friends, with your parents or on your own, you will be very welcome - just get in touch.

Directions to Rye Hill Campus
The main campus of Newcastle College is at Rye Hill, located between Scotswood Road to the South and Westmorland Road to the North. Most of our courses and our advice and enquiry centre are located here and this should be your first point of call if you require information or advice.
By Bus
The following bus services stop close to the College on Westmorland Road and Rye Hill: numbers 1, 30, 31, 32 and 32a.
The following bus services stop close to the College on Scotswood Road: numbers 8, 21, 22, 80, 602, 604, 632 and 633
By train or Metro
Newcastle Central Station is only ten minutes' walk from Rye Hill Campus.
Turn left out of Central Station, following Neville Street and then Westmorland Road. You will pass Times Square and the Centre for Life on your left. Continue up Westmorland Road, past the Discovery Museum on your right, to the top of the hill where the road bends left. You will come directly to the Campus on your left hand side.
By Car
From the North or South: follow directions to Newcastle. As you cross the Redheugh Bridge, move into the left hand lane and turn left immediately after you have crossed the bridge. At the first roundabout turn right into the College car park. Parking is free.
From Newcastle City Centre: follow signs to Central Station, or Blaydon A695. Once past the station, bear left at the traffic lights beside the Centre for Life, go straight on at the next traffic lights and turn right at the next traffic lights into Railway Street. Follow the road round to the right and then straight on at the Scotswood Road roundabout into the College car park. Parking is free.

Our main reception is located in Rye Hill House.

Directions to Sandyford Building
Driving
The Sandyford Building is situated within the campus of Northumbria University. This is directly opposite Newcastle Civic Centre on Sandyford Road.
Travelling south from the central motorway, exit at the junction marked City Centre, Byker and Heaton. Turn right at the roundabout, taking your 4th exit. Keep in the right hand filter lane, turning right at the first set of traffic lights. Continue ahead and take the first right onto College Street. To reach the Sandyford Building, continue along the road turning left at the bottom. Follow the road round past Northumbria’s Students’ Union building, you will eventually reach the Sandyford Building.

Follow the road round past Northumbria’s Students’ Union building, you will eventually reach the Sandyford Building.
Parking
There is no parking available at Sandyford and we suggest you park in either the NCP on John Dobson Street (5 minute walk) or the College St car park next to the City Hall (3 minute walk). There are also a number of meter parking spots around the Northumbria University campus and on Sandyford Rd.
Metro
The closest station is Haymarket Metro. This is about a 5 minute walk to the Sandyford Building. When you come out of the metro, head towards Lloyds TSB bank on the corner. Turn right onto St Marys Place, walk past Luckies Bar on the right hand corner and cross over at the traffic lights. Keep walking straight ahead, at the Natwest bank cross over the road. Walk past the car park on your right, you will now be approaching Northumbria University’s campus. Continue into the quadrangle. You should be able to see the library to your left and the students’ union to your right. The Sandyford Building is straight ahead. It is the black and grey building with verandas.
Bus
The number 1 (every ten mins), 36, 38 stop on Sandyford Road, next to the Civic Centre. Many other buses stop on John Dobson Street or Haymarket Bus Station. Please then follow the directions listed above.
